ABB iDock is a flush-mounted charger and connector for the ABB Digital-Radio – Available for almost all switch ranges

The elegantly designed docking station from ABB was honoured with the “red dot award: product design 2011” in the category consumer electronics. The ABB iDock can be installed in the flush box, functions as a charger for the iPhone* and iPod*, and offers the option of playing music files saved in Apple* devices via the integrated loudspeaker in conjunction with the ABB Digital-Radio and the ABB AudioWorld® system.

The ABB iDock, which can be installed flush on the wall, is available for almost all ABB switch ranges. Thanks to the ABB iDock, iPhones* and iPods* get their “own place” at home and can be integrated into the existing electrical installation in an intelligent and attractive way. The Apple* music player and the ABB Digital-Radio can be controlled remotely using the “Apple* remote” control when they are positioned in the ABB iDock. In addition to the docking connector for the iPhone*, iPod* nano, iPod*touch and iPod* classic, the ABB iDock offers an analogue AUX input with jack plug for other MP3 players or music sources.

Another interesting option: Combination of the ABB iDock with the ABB Digital-Radio. The compact ABB Digital-Radio is also installed in a normal flush box. The perfectly adjusted loudspeaker inserts have excellent sound quality. The Digital Radio comes with an FM stereo RDS tuner programme with eight programme memories, a digital amplifier and an integrated antenna. It is possible to play music files from the Apple* player connected to the ABB iDock on the ABB Digital-Radio.

ABB iDocks features include an illuminable display, an external input for connection to an additional music source and a connection for an optional additional antenna. The ABB Digital-Radio also has a programmable clock, alarm and switch-off function, which can be selected with a simple press of the button. The main control cover is a self-aligning switch rocker, which is supported by the display, for intuitive selection of all functions. An efficient digital amplifier ensures powerful sound quality music and playback. There is a choice of mono or stereo sound. The radio tuner and speakers can be connected directly – using a 2gang combination from the ABB switch range – or installed separately. Similar to the ABB iDock, these components can also be adjusted to the design of the latest ABB switch range. The ABB Digital-Radio and ABB iDock thus suit every home style.
